Jersey worn by Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews during the 2020-21 National Hockey League season in Reverse Retro uniform games on January 30th, 2021 vs the Edmonton Oilers and February 6th, 2021 vs the Vancouver Canucks. The 2020-21 Reverse Retro uniform made its debut by the Maple Leafs on January 30th,2021 vs the Edmonton Oilers, while honouring the late George Armstrong with an exclusive team patch that was only displayed on game jerseys from Jan 24/21-Feb 4/21 (the patches were then removed from those game jerseys). The Leafs would go on to wear the RR uniform three more times, in a 5-1 win on February 6th, 2021 vs the Vancouver Canucks, a 2-1 (OT) win on February 24th, 2021 vs the Calgary Flames, and for the fourth and final time on March 9th, 2021 vs the Winnipeg Jets. The uniform will no longer be in rotation come 2021-22. Matthews' RR Adidas Made In Canada size 58 sweater displays a large 1967 style logo, with 70's/80's style shoulder patches & stripes, light game wear throughout, including light adheisve residue from the Cheif's honourary patch and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity along with a photo-matched 8x10 image of the jersey, in action on Feb 6/21 vs VAN, in which Matthews would record a team high of 3 goals over the two games. In 20/21, Matthews is currently chasing a top three finish in highest goals per game avg in team history (1st - Sweeny Schriner, 0.846 in 1944-45, 2nd - Charlie Conacher, 0.816 in 1930-31) and potentially the teams first ever Maurice "Rocket" Richard trophy recipiant for most goals in an NHL season, since first being awarded to Teemu Selanne after the 1998-99 season.
